Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented HR Administrator to provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources team. The role will work closely with the Junior HR Adviser, assisting with onboarding, maintaining the HR system (Cascade), and managing the HR helpdesk. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of HR processes and offering support to the Senior HR Business Partner and Group HR Director on HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the main point of contact for all HR administration matters.
* Prepare HR-related documents, including employee letters, contracts, and induction schedules.
* Manage the onboarding process for new starters, ensuring all documentation and system updates (Cascade) are completed.
* Continuously update employee records in Cascade, including changes to roles, pay, and other employment details.
* Manage the HR helpdesk, assigning tickets and ensuring timely resolution.
* Provide administrative support for training requests and bookings, ensuring training records in Cascade are up to date.
* Conduct reference checks for new starters and ensure e-learning and IT requests are completed.
* Assist the HR team with project administration, electronic filing, and maintaining employee records on SharePoint.
* Draft letters, memos, emails, meeting minutes, and reports as required.
Person Specification:
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong understanding of administrative processes and HR best practices.
* Proficiency in HR systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy in work.
* Valid UK driving license.
* Basic understanding of employment legislation.
* Working knowledge of the Cascade HR system.
* Previous experience with training systems.
Qualifications:
* GCSEs (Grades 4-9/A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
* A-Level qualifications or equivalent.
* Flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and methodical working style.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
* Team player with a professional attitude.
* Willingness to work flexibly to meet HR deadlines, particularly in relation to projects.
Experience:
* Demonstrable experience in a human resources administrative role.
* Commitment to working in a construction environment and as part of a team.
* Previous experience working in an HR team.
