6 Month Contract North West£52.13The Role The Structural Engineering team is responsible for the submarine structural design including its response to static and shock loading The group have design technical authority for all primary structures but also offer stress and design analysis service to other platform systems teams mechanical and propulsion etc who require substantiation of system components and assemblies This includes pipe stressing and analysis of other components in piping systems. The primary task involves Fatigue and Fracture assessment on critical pipework and pipeline components using defect tolerance procedures of BS7910 Consideration of other failure modes such as erosion and corrosion is also requiredThe Candidate Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Science discipline Ability to communicate effectively at all levels through oral and written briefings and technical reports Expert experience of fatigue and fracture assessment and \\\'Fitness for Purpose\\\' procedures is required.
