We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Band 5/6 Respiratory Nurse to join the Community Respiratory Team within the Weymouth & Portland locality. This will be a collaborative role working closely with GP Practices, the Local Trust and Secondary Care.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery of community service provision for patients with acute/chronic respiratory diseases. The post holder will support the work to develop seamless care for this patient group between primary care, integrated community care and secondary care.
Work with the lead nurse and other team members to ensure high standards of nursing care are maintained in the management of patients with respiratory disease.
Provide specialist advice as requested/required across the locality, within own scope of practice.

Job responsibilities
To provide care for patients with respiratory disease in the Weymouth and Portland Locality. To provide a high standard of evidence-based care for respiratory patients, carers and other health professionals, contributing to the effective management of both acute and chronic phases of respiratory problems in the community.

Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 1-year post registration experience within a primary or secondary care setting.
* Working in a respiratory field or a desire to expand knowledge and learn.
* Ability to build rapport with patients and MDT.
* Ability to impart complex information to patients and relatives and carers with different levels of understanding.
* Accurate recording of data
* Management of respiratory patients.
* Spirometry and FeNO Testing.
* Experience of delivering presentations.
Qualifications
* Registration as a nurse with NMC Level 1 professional body.
* Degree (BSc) or Advanced Diploma in health-related subject.
* ARTP registration in spirometry.
* Certificate in spirometry.
* Non-medical Prescribing.
