The Head of Legal is a new appointment to the Company, a primary legal adviser providing expert legal guidance across all areas of the business and supporting the Board of Directors and functions including Supply Chain, HR and Business Development. This role will collaborate closely with senior leadership colleagues to ensure legal risks are managed efficiently, while also providing proactive legal strategies to enhance operational effectiveness as a Company. The Head of Legal will provide comprehensive leadership and legal advice on all matters relating to contracts and agreements, interpreting and advising decisively on the legal aspects of contracts, procurement strategies and risk allocation. They will advise the Board of Directors on legal risks and opportunities that impact the companys operations and strategy and be a key contributor to strategic decision-making processes, ensuring legal considerations are factored into business planning and risk assessment. The Head of Legal will be accountable for drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, regulatory frameworks and industry best practices and that they are tailored to the companys operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. They will oversee the companys regulatory affairs, ensuring ongoing compliance with industry requirements, regulations and standards. They will manage and mitigate potential risks, providing timely solutions, overseeing claims, disputes and litigation matters and working with external legal counsel when necessary. The Head of Legal will manage relationships with external legal firms, government agencies and regulatory bodies as needed and will act as the companys legal representative in dealings with clients, suppliers and regulatory bodies. Applicants should possess the following skills and experiences: Solicitor or Barrister with significant post-qualification experience in a legal role, with substantial experience of providing legaladvice in a private sector settingand of managing commercial contracts, disputes and compliance. Extensive knowledge of commercial law, including contract law, tort law and statutory requirementsand an ability to lead on a broad range of legal issues. Exposure to ROI / EU law experience would desirable. Awareness of the commercial and operational aspects of working in in a commercial setting. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify legal risks and opportunities and offer actionable solutions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build highly effective relationships and work constructively with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
