We are currently seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our practice in South Dorset, with the opportunity for the right candidate to become a director and shareholder.
The Surveyor will need to have knowledge of insurance work, contract administration, and the preparation of survey reports, in addition to a wide range of building surveying and professional services experience. As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will be involved in advising on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of residential and commercial property. The successful candidate will be expected to always conduct themselves in accordance with the RICS professional and ethical standards.
Candidate Responsibilities
1. Conducting surveys and preparing reports
2. Measuring the boundaries of properties and land using appropriate equipment
3. Analysing historical records and evidence to ensure data accuracy
4. Providing guidance to staff on site
5. Working closely with engineers and architects
6. Drawing up sketches, charts, and maps
7. Analysing buildings to identify any potential discrepancies with current building safety regulations
Candidate Requirements
1. Minimum 2 years post qualified
2. Proven experience as a Chartered Building Surveyor, ideally within the construction industry
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD
4. MRICS Status or working towards achieving this status
5. Must have knowledge of expert witness reports and insurance works
6. Experience in dealing with insurance claims, including defect reports, contract administration, value at risk assessments
7. Experience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural and planning practices and procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications, and guidelines
8. Experience and knowledge of Party Wall matters
9. Experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, The Party Wall etc Act 1996, and Building Regs legislation
10. The ability to work independently or as part of a team
11. Be a good team worker
12. Excellent attention to detail
13. UK Driving Licence
Terms
GBP45,000 per annum plus company car
Bonus scheme
Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm
Friday 9am - 4:30pm
