Spectrum Geosurvey is a leading coastal geophysical survey company, supporting clients in the offshore renewables sector with high-quality hydrographic and geophysical survey data. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Lymington.
The Hydrographic Data Processor will be responsible for hydrographic data processing, generating client deliverables, and survey report writing. Successful candidates will receive industry-leading training on hydrographic data processing techniques and established workflows using CARIS HIPS & SIPS. The Hydrographic Data Processor will work under guidance, conducting Bathymetric processing and maintaining quality and consistency of data processing and deliverable creation.
* Report preparation based on Geophysical survey data and interpretation
* Hydrographic chart and chartlet creation in QGIS or ArcGIS
* Seabed contact identification and characterisation
* Data quality control and data assurance ensuring that it complies with the project scope of work
* Providing a positive feedback loop to the infield survey team to improve data acquisition quality and practices
* Identification, investigation and troubleshooting inconsistencies in hydrographic data
* Follow and contribute to established data processing procedures and guidelines
* Assist with data management and data archiving activities
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Conduct Bathymetric processing and assist in maintaining quality and consistency of data processing and deliverable creation
* Prepare reports based on Geophysical survey data and interpretation
**Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Hydrography, Marine Geography, Marine Sciences or a related field
* Working knowledge of hydrographic multibeam systems, motion reference units, side scan sonar and magnetometer systems
* Ability to work both independently and as a team, have a can-do attitude and a strong verbal communication skillset
* High attention to detail while under pressure to ensure all relevant information is identified, extracted, and reported
The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
