Job Introduction
This is a key role within our Security Architecture & Consultancy Team, leading the Secure Change Community of Practice to ensure all embedded security consultants are effective and familiar with the secure change processes and tools. The role holder will also develop and mature the end-to-end Secure change process whilst ensuring there is oversight in place to measure its effectiveness. The role holder is to work closely with and provide support to the Secure Change Managers to ensure the security consultants ensure the bank’s IT platforms are secure in design and operation and with measured levels of risk in accordance with the banks existing processes in a manner that can be effectively managed and reported on.
Main Responsibilities
* Own, document and develop the Processes, Procedures and Tools (“Methods and Tools”) which used to deliver the Bank’s end-to-end Secure Change Processes, ensuring that they meet the Bank’s regulatory commitments, control requirements, business plan & strategy commitments and good practice.
* Maintain effective and collaborative relationships with upstream policy/process owners including those at Group to ensure their demand is deliverable by the secure change teams and the required output is both meaningful and adds value to the Bank’s change process.
* Ensure that secure change teams operate in a manner that allows accurate reporting of their performance including any thematic risks and that status reports can be produced as required, in conjunction with the secure change managers.
* Develop the assets used in the secure change processes to an optimal industry standard that meets the internal/regulator requirements and ensures repeatable high quality delivery for minimum effort.
* Be the day to day reference point for consultants, recognised as the bank’s Subject Matter Expert on all “Methods and Tools” operated in Secure Change. Provide hands-on support to consultants and workstreams in the production of quality security artefacts.
* Assist the Secure Change Managers to resolve escalations.
* Develop & Deliver a training and awareness plan for all secure change methods and tools, ensuring all those involved in Change are familiar with their responsibilities for Security.
* Operating an onboarding and ongoing training and competence programme for all embedded security consultants to cover all aspects of Secure Change Methods & Tools, the Handelsbanken Change framework and risk frameworks.
* Undertake Quality Assurance on Secure Change deliverables, to agreed quality standards and sample-based criteria, supporting Consultants to address quality issues or process gaps.
* Establish indicators that provide quality, timely and documented oversight and reporting to the UKTI Management Team, Secure Change Managers and Head of Security Architecture & Consultancy that the Secure Change Process is being applied consistently and operated effectively across the business - aligned to the Bank’s Change Governance processes and ensuring that information security and data privacy risks are being identified and well managed.
* Provide appropriate specialist advice and interpretation of Information Security best practice and UK regulatory requirements to a range of different stakeholders as new products, processes and systems are developed.
Ideal Candidate
* Able to define and document effective & efficient processes and procedures which meet good practice, regulatory and control standard requirements.
* Ability to establish facts, develop & document potential solutions and ensure views are aligned with pragmatic transparent risk management.
* Knowledge of modern/agile development techniques.
* Expert level knowledge and understanding of all the Methods & Tools utilised within the Secure Change process.
* Good Understanding of IT Risk Management and practical experience applying it to significant Change projects.
* Ability to build collaborative coaching relationships with stakeholders at all levels and utilise these to achieve good security outcomes.
* Take long term strategic ownership of security capabilities within area of responsibility defining and agreeing current and target state and multi-year plans to achieve them.
* Ability to build and deploy matrix teams empowered to act autonomously but aligned to core methods and controls.
* Experience of IT & Security in a Financial Services organisation, and an understanding of regulatory requirements.
* Be able to take responsibility and act autonomously.
* Influence decision making to surface and enable resolution of issues and risks across a wide range of stakeholders, up to and including senior management / executive.
* Be able to interact proactively and confidently with all areas of business, including senior management and product owners.
* Pragmatic, and effectively balances risk and control requirements with commercial drivers and customer outcomes.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A desire to continually improve the quality of services and products delivered to customers, and the quality and pace of delivery.
