The General Manager will be responsible for business development, profit and loss management, budgeting, employee relations, safety, and forecasting. This role requires a dynamic leader who can inspire a diverse team, drive strategic initiatives, and fosters a culture of excellence.
Leadership and Management
* Provide strategic direction and leadership to all areas of the business, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and goals.
* Supervise and mentor direct reports, including the Human Resources Manager, Operations Manager, Director, Aggregate, and Director, Business Development.
* Partner with applicable areas of the Business including Human Resources, Finance and Communications to properly prepare and execute on business objectives.
Business Development
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s market presence.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
* Oversee the preparation and submission of proposals and bids for new projects.
Financial Management
* Manage profit and loss statements to ensure financial health and profitability.
* Develop and oversee annual budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.
* Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to support strategic decision-making for projects and work being completed.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
* Proven track record in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects desired.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Strong business development skills with a network of industry contacts desired.
* Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
