We are looking to employ a part time Receptionist to join our friendly team.
The successful candidate will be required to provide effective and efficient reception and administrative services for the practice in a professional and courteous manner. Experienced in delivering a high standard of customer service is valued but full training for this role will be provided.
The role is Part-Time up to 16 hours per week, to include some 8.00am starts and 6.30pm finishes.
Also, there is a need to be able to cover colleagues for sickness and holiday absence.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure efficient running of appointment system. Be aware of flow of patients into consulting rooms and advise patients regarding any potential delays.
2. Help coordinate urgent on the day appointments for patients either by assisting with the online forms or walk-in emergencies.
3. Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors.
4. Participate in Care Navigation, which involves signposting patients to more appropriate health care services.
5. Take and process new patient registrations.
6. Safely take samples from patients as per the Sample Handling protocol.
7. Take subject access requests from patients.
8. Set up online user accounts.
9. Ensure that you are familiar with the appointment systems being used for the practice and Primary Care Network appointments.
10. Book appointments for long term condition recalls as per the patients' needs.
11. Process patient information such as notifications of deaths as per practice protocols.
12. Receive and transfer telephone calls. Ensure accurate messages are transcribed to the relevant recipient.
13. Assist with the practice's clerical work as required. This may involve clinical data entry onto the computer, scanning of documents, issuing mail-merge letters, recording and extracting data for audit purposes, and Clinical Coding.
14. Retrieve and advise patients of their test results.
15. Provide holiday and sickness cover for colleagues as required.

Qualifications
* Minimum of NVQ level 2 in Customer Service or equivalent experience.
* NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service or equivalent.
