Location: Maldon
Salary: £25,575 with a pay rise after probation
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
Our multi award-winning client based in Maldon is looking for an additional Sales Administrator to join their small but close-knit team. They're entering their 30th year of business and are offering a fantastic opportunity to learn all aspects of the business and upskill yourself.
Although this role is predominantly calling existing customers to take their orders weekly, there's so much more you'll be doing, including helping run their social media accounts, brainstorming new product names and branding, and route planning to name a few.
You'll get all the training necessary to succeed at this job and you'll be working closely with the company director (who started as a Sales Administrator).
What you'll be doing:
1. Calling customers to take their orders
2. Promoting products and services to customers
3. Upselling to customers
4. Recording sales activities accurately on the database
5. Creating invoices on the database
6. Using Excel for bookkeeping and formulas
7. Calling customers about outstanding payments
8. Taking payments in person
9. Bookkeeping
10. Stock taking
11. Route planning for drivers
12. Hiring vehicles when needed
13. Designing and printing flyers for advertisements
14. Email marketing
15. Brainstorming new product branding and name ideas
16. Any other ad hoc tasks as required
What you'll need to be successful:
1. Ability and confidence to pick up the phone and speak to regular customers
2. Professional telephone manner
3. Sensitivity when speaking to customers about outstanding payments
4. Good computer skills including Excel
5. A 'can-do' attitude and proactiveness
6. Accuracy and attention to detail
7. Initiative to think quickly and be a problem solver
Requirements to apply:
1. Previous telephone experience in inbound or outbound sales
2. Experience using Excel and databases to record information
3. Experience quoting a product or service
4. Good geographical knowledge of Maldon and surrounding areas
5. Bookkeeping experience (ideal but not essential)
6. Driver's license (ideal but not essential)
