Description We seek an experienced Shipping and Logistics Assistant / Sample Handler to work onsite at our Basingstoke Office/Lab. You’ll be part of a local facilities team and support the general receiving and shipping of samples and deliveries, internally and externally Responsibilities • Packs or unpacks a wide variety of items into or from cartons, boxes, or similar containers upon request. • Assembles, disassembles and/or disperses company supplies such as office furniture, laboratory equipment, office supplies, tools, hardware, parts and samples etc. • Records, inventories and tracks incoming and outgoing items through established procedures such as purchase orders, receiving reports, database or materials disposal records using UL guidelines and in conformance with established foreign and domestic shipping services. • Assists personnel as directed. • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. • Performs other duties as directed (5S, Facilities support). • Proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving challenges. • Team Player. • Hosting of contractors as required via a Permit to Work System (Forklift Maintenance / Inspection). • Opportunity for the right candidate to participate in the on-call out-of-hours response program for campus-wide emergencies. E.g. fire alarm, intruder alarm, etc (1 week in 4). Qualifications College Education and 4 years directly related experience. Proven experience in forklift truck operation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various stakeholders. Proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving. Strong team player.
