Description Grade UE08: £49,559 to £60,907 per annum Corporate Services Group / Estates Department Full Time: 35 hours per week Open ended: permanent The Estates Department is looking to recruit to an Estates Property Manager to join a small team who are responsible for the property management of the University’s extensive portfolio of land and property, providing advice and guidance on all estate management issues, including; management of the expanding Let property portfolio, lease negotiations, acquisitions and disposals, title issues and collaborations, valuation and Rating issues. The Opportunity: This post has responsibility for delivering a strategic estate management service for the University’s extensive portfolio of land and property. The property management team are responsive to the dynamic institutional space requirements in terms of size, use, cost and location. Respond to property related requests from across the University to ensure that property requirements are clearly understood and acceptable solutions are delivered within budgetary, locational and spatial constraints. This requires detailed knowledge of the property market including rental and investment trends and an overview on availability of suitable accommodation at any given time. Ensuring that that rental income is maximised and lease obligations enforced. Your skills and attributes for success: Educated to degree level with RICS professional status and a high level of interpersonal, numeracy, written and computer literacy skills. Professional experience operating in a property management role in the private/ public sector with a demonstrable track record in strategic estate management. Experience in the acquisition and disposal of property would be beneficial. Experience of managing and controlling budgets together with an understanding of financial management. Specialist knowledge and understanding of the property market and ability to negotiate the best deal in any given transaction acting for the University.
