Quarry Manager
Location: Southam, Warwickshire
Role: Monday – Friday, 40hrs a week
Salary: Up to £70k depending on experience
Project Partners are on the look out for an experienced Quarry Manager to come and join their team in Southam!
As the new Quarry Manager, you will organise, plan, coordinate and control quarry activities including R&M to ensure the Plant receives the raw materials of suitable quality and in sufficient quantity to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the cement making process, ensuring lowest cost whilst maintaining a safe operation in compliance with legal requirements and company policies & procedures.
Role:
* Organise and lead implementation of all policies, procedures and arrangements to ensure quarrying operations are carried out in a safe manner, compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement to ensure all activities are completed to the highest H&S standards.
* Manage a team of employees and contractors, in accordance with applicable Policies and legislation.
* Devise, develop and manage annual quarry budgets and long-term plans. Manage a £4 million annual production budget.
* Strategically plan and develop the quarry to maximise the usable life of all reserves, whilst delivering the required quality for cement manufacturing.
* Liaise with Mechanical and Electrical Coordinators to ensure correct and sufficient maintenance program and supporting budget.
* Monitor and report on daily activities and operations to ensure early identification of potential problems and failures which may impact production capacity.
* Review site KPIs (energy, downtime etc.) to identify and drive site efficiencies.
* Plan, organise and deliver projects in accordance with safety standards, budget and timescale.
* Management of all current and future processing equipment for extracting clay or imported alternative raw materials.
* Liaise and communicate with regulatory bodies and authorities including HSE, the local community, cement plant personnel.
Candidate Experience:
ESSENTIAL:
* Experience of managing a team to safely deliver operational excellence and continuity, with proven experience of budgetary control and asset management, including heavy engineering.
* Previous experience of quarry management (ideally) or experience in a similar industrial work environment.
* Experience of liaising closely with external stakeholders, including EA, HSE, local authorities and communities.
* Good level of IT skills and knowledge of standard computer applications, plus SAP.
* NEBOSH Certificate qualified.
* Full UK Driving License.
DESIRABLE:
* Degree qualified in an engineering or science field
* Quarry DIPLOMA/ NVQ
