Job summary Dr Gellia & Dr Balaraman's Practice is based in Monkwearmouth Health Centre and we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly team. We currently have a population of around 4700 patients and we are looking for an experienced HCA to work alongside our existing practice team in order to meet the needs of the patient and liaise with other members of the primary healthcare team. Main duties of the job Main duties include the following: NHS Health Checks, ECG, Phlebotomy, Seasonal Influenza, Covid and Pneumococcal vaccination of adults, Smoking Cessation, Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples, Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording in the absence of the Practice Nurse. Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions. Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing. Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual. Helping to raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted. About us We are a friendly and well established practice with 4700 patients with a Good CQC rating.
