This is an exciting opportunity to progress your pharmacy career. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of pharmacy technicians who provide a range of pharmaceutical services in this busy acute hospital Trust.
In this progressive role, you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level in the hospital setting. As the successful candidate, you will first commence in the role at band 4, and then upon completion of an individualised development plan you will progress to your role as Clinical Pharmacy Technician, Band 5.
You need to be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC to apply, however applications from candidates due to qualify & register this year will be considered. Experience of hospital pharmacy is not essential as you will be well-supported in training and developing into this role.

Main duties of the job
An excellent development opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technicians to join our diverse team to support the ward and multi-disciplinary team in developing a high-quality pharmacy service.
Your main duties will be working on wards carrying out a comprehensive medicines management service which will encompass assessment of patient's own medicines, medicines reconciliation, and counselling for discharge. In addition, the ward based teams are heavily involved in the governance of medicines through our regular cycle of audits.
You must have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to show you are self- motivated and flexible in your approach to your work to meet the requirements for our developing service.
You will have:
*A nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council;
*An accredited accuracy checking qualification or working towards this qualification;
*Community or hospital experience ;
*A flexible approach to accommodate the needs of the service;
*Good time management skills
A requirement to participate in evening working, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis will be necessary.

Qualifications
Essential
1. *GCSEs -- Mathematics and English (Grade B/5) and four other subjects including Science (Grade C/4)
2. Or
3. *GCSEs: Mathematics, English and Science (Grade C/4 or equivalent) and two other GCSEs (Grade C/4) and successful achievement of the pharmacy service skills Level 2 NVQ qualification (or equivalent)

5. *Three A levels, one of which is a relevant science subject and Mathematics B/5 (GCSE or equivalent)

7. *Degree in science or humanities and Mathematics B/5 (GCSE or equivalent)
