The post The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the SOLARIS (Strengthening demOcratic engagement through vaLue-bAsed geneRative adversarIal network) project ( https://projects.illc.uva.nl/solaris/) ). Outline of the project : Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) can pose significant risks, particularly in the context of generating deceptive content like deepfakes. About you The successful applicant will be expected to: Develop complex, time series-based algorithms that integrate hybrid techniques from statistics and machine learning, using the programming language R, for which absolute proficiency is required. Conduct simulations to test and validate the developed algorithms Write and publish academic papers that contribute to the scientific community and enhance the understanding of time series analysis in the context of GANs. Work effectively in a dynamic environment, exchanging ideas and collaborating with other academics beyond the primary principal investigator Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field with a focus on linear and non-linear time series analysis. Demonstrated expertise in hybrid statistical and machine learning techniques. Absolute proficiency in R for algorithm development, data analysis, and simulations.
