Role Description
A manager with extensive knowledge of Project Management gained through experience.
Typically a GG12 would manage a single team running a small to medium-sized project or a work package within a larger project, with an accountability also to the facility General Manager (GM)
Managing a small, multidisciplinary team, including material control, support leads, production scheduling, and project engineers.
Engage with multiple stakeholders, from production staff to the Managing Director in Performance Reviews.
Proactively and professionally resolve issues and solve problems, escalating issues as necessary
Submarine product knowledge is essential as the role is involving the production.Core Duties
Accountable for the performance and results of the team, that drive schedule enablement and performance
Ensures essential procedures are followed based on own knowledge of Project Management.
Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, discipline and other personnel actions.
Leadership Responsibilities
Ensures essential procedures are followed based on own knowledge of Project Management. This may formulate policies and procedures with in your own area. This will also have and expectation to influence the development of strategy within own area, including control of resource and policy formulation.
Adapts and develops own project plans to support Critical path recovery and priorities to address operational challenges.Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge:
Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices).
Able to resolve project-related problems that do not have routine solutions, but the norm is to follow established procedures.
Good understanding of the Business environment for own project and team.
Recognised as a Project Management practitioner.
Able to resolve & guide others in solving complex project-related issues, but the normal is to follow established procedures.
Extensive understanding of the Business environment for own project and team.Skills:
Demonstrates good awareness of commercial practices within own project area.
Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan. Receives guidance from senior manager as needed.
Demonstrates good commercial awareness & how it integrates within own and wider project areas.
Developed communication and diplomacy skills. Able to persuade and influence internal & external stakeholders, often at senior levels internally, sometimes externally.
Controls resources and policy formation in wider area of responsibility. Limited guidance needed from seniors.Qualifications:
University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.
Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management.
Expect to be an LCM Assessor or Chairperson.
Submarine building experience, with an electrical back ground.
Working Arrangements:
Hybrid (3-4 days in the office per week)
