JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY The lead professional - workforce contributes to the development of the Trusts strategic approach to nursing and midwifery staffing and will take a significant lead role in the implementation of new roles, workforce redesign, recruitment and retention, temporary staff management and safer staffing requirements for our current and future nursing and midwifery workforce. The post holder will provide professional leadership and specialist expertise with regard to the nursing and midwifery workforce within the Trust and working with key stakeholders on a regional and local basis. The post holder will support the Head of Nursing Workforce & Education in the delivery of the Trusts strategic approach for the nursing and midwifery workforce. These strategies encompass the entire nursing and midwifery workforce (c.6000 WTE) across all clinical specialities and Trust sites. The post holder will act as a source of expertise, advice and knowledge for managers, leaders and healthcare professionals on all aspects of safer staffing, recruitment, retention and temporary staff management The lead professional - workforce will support the Head of Nursing Workforce & Education as required with the wider responsibilities of their role.
