As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of the children’s residential home, working closely with the Registered Manager. You will lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Management:
* Support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations of the home.
* Provide guidance, supervision, and support to staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability.
* Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management of team members.
* Care Delivery:
* Ensure the highest standards of care for children and young people, promoting their safety, well-being, and development.
* Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with children, families, and professionals.
* Act as a role model, demonstrating empathy and consistency in interactions with children.
* Compliance & Safeguarding:
* Maintain adherence to Ofsted regulations and standards.
* Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed.
* Conduct regular audits and contribute to inspections.
* Administrative Duties:
* Oversee record-keeping and reporting to meet statutory and organizational requirements.
* Assist in budget management and resource allocation.
Requirements
* Qualifications:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
* Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting.
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
* Skills:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours with confidence and empathy.
* Sound knowledge of child protection and safeguarding.
