37 hours Fixed Term Contract for 9 months
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our dynamic respiratory medicine and cardiothoracic surgery unit physiotherapy teams. This post is a split post between 2 clinical areas: Respiratory Medicine inpatient and outpatient services and Cardiothoracic Surgery unit inpatient team which includes ITU and HDU cover alongside ward-based work.
Candidates must display evidence of clinical experience in a variety of acute in-patient areas, with proven exposure in particular to respiratory or surgical areas. Ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members/students is also essential. Experience in ITU/HDU settings, long-term condition management and respiratory outpatient settings is desirable.
The post will allow the successful candidate to gain extensive and in-depth experience as a band 6 physiotherapist within the cardiothoracic surgery unit and respiratory medicine specialty and an opportunity to develop quality improvement, audit and evaluation skills. Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.
There is a regular weekend and overnight on-call commitment.
