Our client is looking for a Senior PSV Mechanic to be based in Liverpool.
This role is working for a large public transport company.
Responsibilities:
1. Routine 6-weekly safety inspections and annual MOT preparation on fleet vehicles.
2. Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on different makes of buses (Alexander Dennis, Optare, Fiat, Volkswagen & Mercedes).
3. Accurate fault diagnosing (mechanical and/or electrical) and rectification ensuring all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that the relevant health and safety policies are adhered to.
4. Road test vehicle when required (if holder of HGV/PSV licence).
5. Detailed record keeping of planned and completed work, including parts used and ordered.
6. Work areas can include engines, gearboxes, running gear, electrical systems, and body repairs.
7. Daily review of driver defect sheets and ensuring that all vehicle defects are reported to the garage foreman.
8. Attending local breakdowns in and out of hours.
9. Maintaining a high standard of organisation including cleanliness and tidiness around the workshop.
Essential Requirements:
1. Served a recognised apprenticeship as a Bus Mechanic / PSV Technician / HGV Engineer and hold a formal qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
2. Gained a minimum of 2-years' experience in a similar work environment.
3. Possess a good knowledge of the DVSA rules and legislation relating to inspections and MOT preparation of PSV vehicles.
4. Can demonstrate that you can work consistently and safely to a high standard of Health & Safety.
5. Have skills to be a flexible member of the team to adapt to the tasks necessary in the day-to-day operations of the depot.
6. Hold a full UK license.
Compensation:
Pay is £45,000 to £47,500, with fortnightly pay.
Uniform and workwear provided including PPE on request.
Employee and family (2 extra passes) free travel.
Own area to store own tools and equipment.
Attendance bonus.
