Responsibilities
as our Lecturer in Early Years will include:
1. Teach on courses as agreed with the Learning Manager across Early Years and care
2. Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum
3. Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning
4. Organise and participate in relevant speakers, enrichment visits, and liaise with external organisations to enhance the learner experience.
5. Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews
6. Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others
7. Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank for the relevant subject/course
8. Internal verification
9. Act as a Personal Tutor to students.
10. Representing the College at internal and external events and meetings including student recruitment, admissions, and open events.
As our Lecturer in Early Years, youll ideally have:
11. Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
12. Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years
13. A relevant professional qualification at Level 3 or above - Diploma in Childcare and Education, Level 3 NVQ in Early Years, Care and Education, Children and Young Peoples Workforce, NNEB.
14. A proven record of delivering teaching, learning and assessment to a consistently high standard either in a college or work setting by supporting apprentices
15. Relevant industrial experience within an Early Years or Education environment including a Day Nursery, School or pre-school
16. Experience of working with students and assessing vocational practice.
17. Skills in assessing the progress of students.
18. Microsoft Office applications, and the dexterity to use and learn new software
