Senior Manager, E-commerce Trading (FTC)
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as Senior Manager, E-commerce Trading on an FTC. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and optimising the global E-Commerce trading strategy, ensuring seamless implementation across markets in alignment with Liverpool FC objectives. You will oversee day-to-day trading operations to ensure consistent execution of business goals across all Liverpool FC retail E-Commerce sales channels.
In this role, you will be joining a fast-growing team within the club. You will be reporting to and collaborating with the Director, Global E-Commerce, to deliver key commercial initiatives, ensuring alignment with the wider merchandising and marketing functions.
What will you be doing?
Your key accountabilities are:
E-commerce trading execution
* Execute and optimise the global E-Commerce trading strategy, ensuring effective implementation across key markets.
* Manage the seasonal E-Commerce trading calendar, ensuring alignment with local market needs and key sales events.
* Implement targeted trading initiatives to maximise sales across Liverpool FC E-Commerce sales channels, ensuring optimal customer engagement.
* Monitor and optimise sales performance across all E-Commerce sales channels implementing data-driven improvements to achieve revenue and profit targets.
* Provide weekly and monthly reporting on performance, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Support financial forecasting and planning, ensuring effective budget management.
Leadership
* Build and shape a highly effective, world-class team by recruiting, training, and developing experts focused on longer-term trends, initiatives, and campaigns within the marketplace.
* Shape the team to deliver efficiently managed E-commerce channels globally.
* Represent the E-commerce trading function within key business meetings.
* Manage and mentor the Manager, E-Commerce Trading, ensuring ongoing professional development and high performance.
* Monitor the activity of the central marketing team to ensure the Retail marketing budget drives strong ROAS.
* Work closely with the marketing team to ensure areas such as paid, club channels, email, push notifications, and online/offline campaigns deliver strong customer acquisition and retention results.
* Analyse traffic sources and conversion rates to refine marketing strategies and identify new growth opportunities.
New sales channel opportunities
* Work alongside the Director, Global E-Commerce, to identify and onboard new sales channels.
* Support in developing market-specific annual/seasonal business plans to achieve short and long-term growth.
* Evaluate opportunities such as Connected Marketplaces, drop shipping, listing on third-party platforms, and international partner E-Commerce expansions.
Fan Experience
* Monitor SLAs of the internal Fan Experience team to ensure high service levels and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the central Product team to optimise the post-purchase journey, ensuring a best-in-class experience for customers and optimal system uptime.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have significant E-Commerce trading experience gained working within a sport/lifestyle brand with proven operational E-Commerce experience in international markets. You will have a track record of developing and overseeing regional E-Commerce projects, with strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team. A solid understanding of both current and emerging E-Commerce trends and marketing standards is essential. You will have hands-on experience with E-Commerce/marketing analytical packages and implementation of findings.
This is an important role in the LFC Retail Operations and Merchandising team that requires a creative individual with a proven ability to lead a team of technical experts. With a strategic approach and focus, you will always consider longer-term plans to ensure continued growth and improved performance. An ability to form strong relationships across the retail operations teams is essential. Working within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, an ability to pivot and adapt to the unpredictability of football and its impact on e-commerce is crucial.

This is a full-time fixed-term 12-month contract working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid position, and your main base will be our city centre office, Chapel Street, Liverpool.
