Our Client has been established in its field since 1964, they have been a leader in high quality ultra–high vacuum products and services. As pioneers in the field of UHV technology, their focus on innovation, reliability, and quality has helped great minds take great leaps forward. Their products are widely used by the world's leading universities and research institutions, from NASA and the European Space Agency to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. They have a new, purpose–built manufacturing facility near Hailsham, East Sussex and are entering an exciting new phase in their development as they embark on an ambitious expansion programme.
As our TIG Welder / Fabricator you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring all TIG Welding projects are completed in conformance with specifications and set time scales.
* Fabrication and welding of vacuum chambers, components, and sub–assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales.
* Completing projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations.
* Quality Control evaluations. Setting up and running leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels.

* Ability to prioritise projects throughout the team to achieve targets incorporating CIT (call in time / Overtime).
* Understanding and working to the 5s program.
* Following all health and safety regulations and seeking to maintain and improve these standards.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge or experience of welding and fabrication processes would be beneficial.
* Previous experience of working in the vacuum industry would be advantageous.
* Qualified to BTech/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
* TIG Welding (ideally working with stainless steel & Mu metal).
* Established skillset in metal fabrication and welding including the use of precision measuring equipment.
* Able to read specified drawings.
* Comfortable working to deadlines set by the lead technician.
* Basic knowledge of turning would be an advantage.
* Following all health and safety regulations and seeking to maintain and improve these standards.
Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years experience in TIG Welding.
