Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) is one of the leading, historic brewers in the UK. We are now recruiting for a Technical Engineer to join us. Reporting to the Site Packaging Lead, this role will be the main technical expert in our packaging department, with the ability to supervise where needed.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Coordinate team members for tasks and major maintenance activities including preparation, execution, and validation for the completed work.
2. Responsible for machines in the packaging department (filler, blower, seamer, labeller).
3. Ensure the maintenance team is organized and updated on their priorities & objectives via their team leaders and/or the Maintenance Manager.
4. Relevant training of operators and technicians, upskilling and appropriate use of unscheduled downtime.
5. Supervise and be responsible for the safety, quality, and results of any external contractors.
6. Create and update the planned maintenance activities in the relevant systems (RCA/BDA).
7. Ensure performance management through suitable and relevant KPIs.
8. Lead risk assessments and compliance checks as needed.
9. Ensure continuous improvement in all we do & lead development and implementation of excellence programs.
Support CIL’s creation and propose updates (together with the Process Engineer) and lead process confirmation of maintenance plans and activities.
Create and update planned maintenance schedule (3M, 6M, 1Y, etc.) and lead process confirmation of maintenance plans and activities.
Create and modify the spare parts list for the machines in the area of responsibilities and create a budget based on the list of spare parts.
1. Owner of the line(s) maintenance cost & performance.
Experience and Key Attributes:
1. University degree in Engineering – mechanical, electrical, automation or food technologies.
2. Experience in a relevant position in a production environment.
3. Previous experience in continuous improvement programs would be beneficial.
4. Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics & pneumatics, electricals, and automation.
5. Ability to build process specifications and use instrumentation to ensure that process control, quality, and safety standards are always met.
6. Fluent in English – both spoken and written.
