Job Title: Registered Manager – Residential Mental Health Service Location: Gillingham Salary: £45k per annum We are a well-established and respected provider of specialist mental health care services, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality care since 2006. Our organisation operates a number of services across the Kent, Medway, East Sussex, and West Sussex areas, and we are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager to lead our residential mental health service in Gillingham, Kent. This service, which has been operational for over 15 years, provides residential care for individuals with a variety of mental health conditions. Despite a long history of receiving Good ratings from regulatory bodies, the service recently underwent an inspection where some areas for improvement were identified. As a result, we are looking for a skilled and experienced manager to drive forward improvements and lead the ongoing development of the service. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the residential mental health service, ensuring the highest standards of care. Implement and oversee the action plan to address areas identified for improvement from the most recent regulatory inspection. Provide strong leadership to the staff team, fostering a positive and cohesive working environment. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including CQC, SOVA, Adult Protection, and DoLS. Work collaboratively with external stakeholders, including Local Authority funders, to ensure the service meets the needs of its clients. Oversee quality assurance processes and conduct regular audits to maintain high standards. Support the business development and growth of the service, ensuring occupancy levels are maximised. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CQC Registered Manager in a residential care setting. Qualified to QCF Level 5 (or equivalent). Proven track record of achieving Good (or better) CQC ratings. Experience leading operational and cultural change, or managing service turnarounds. Knowledge and experience of managing individuals with a range of mental health conditions (e.g. personality disorders, bipolar disorder, EUPD, schizophrenia, etc.). Strong understanding of CQC regulations, SOVA, Adult Protection, and DoLS. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to reliably commute to Gillingham on a daily basis.
