Whatyou'll do
As a ComplianceLead, you’ll be supporting executives in making sure that thebusiness strategy for the relevant business units is consistentwith and supports an effective regulatory framework. You’ll also besupporting executives on regulatory engagement in relation torelevant matters relating to customer franchises and businessunits.
On top of this, you’llbe:
* Providing thebusiness area with technical advice on the interpretation ofregulatory and venue rules applicable to the function and theirimpact on its operating model
* Supporting thebusiness area’s approach to objectively measuring and quantifyingthe conduct risk profile and embedding it in front lineprocesses
* Working within the parameters of asecond line of defence risk function, providing constructive andimpactful support, and challenge to business stakeholders on theconduct risk appetite framework andstrategy
* Owning stakeholder relationships tomake sure that there’s an early understanding and buy-in of conductrisk appetite activity within thebusiness
* Delivering credible, informed andinsightful conduct opinion into culture and risk assessmentprogrammes, as well as remuneration and performance managementprocesses
Theskills you'll need
To succeedin this role, you’ll need strong financial services experience,preferably in banking and regulated firms in the conduct riskenvironment. In addition, you’ll need broad technical knowledge ofproducts, services and regulations relevant to a large retail andwholesaleorganisation.
You’llalsodemonstrate:
* Knowledgeand experience of providing regulatory and technical support andadvice to senior management
* The ability toanalyse, understand and draw sound conclusions from a wide range ofsources and information including MI
* A trackrecord in effective senior stakeholder management, with relevantexperience in a compliance or conduct risk relateddiscipline
* Experience in, and the ability tohave, challenging conversations with stakeholders to reach agreedpositions, with a proven strength in influencing and negotiationskills
* The proven ability to thinkstrategically and to simplify complex conduct matters to make surethey are effectively managed, understood andcommunicated
