Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Multi-Trade Carpenter for our client a local government organisation in Kensington. The successful post holder will carry out Multitrader (Carpentry biased) duties in tenanted and Voids properties both internal and external. This is initially a 3 month contract with the possibility to extend after that date. Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to: Co-ordinate a range of work activities to ensure performance targets are attained. Carry out works within strict timescales and budgets, seeking approval from Supervisors as required to vary works. Use PDA equipment competently to record works carried out in real time. To ensure the safety of oneself and others at all times by working within the organisation’s Health and Safety policy and procedures associated with Handyman works. Carry out a range of Multitrader (Carpentry biased) services including but not limited to, hanging doors and frames, fitting kitchens, structural flooring and finishes, Metsec and drylining, fitting and replacing locks, fittings basins and baths, tiling, painting and decorating etc. Ensure all work is carried out safely, in accordance with our code of conduct with respect to our residents and their homes whenever working in or outside of the property. Inform your supervisor where necessary materials are required for works to be carried out in a single visit. Carry out works to the requirements and obligations to the Health and Safety at work Act and all specific Health and Safety polices required by the organisation. Wear appropriate clothing, ID, uniform and PPE for specific tasks. Maintain a high level of cleanliness at all times by the use of dust sheets and/or boot covers and leave properties and a clean, compliant and safe condition. Personal Requirements: Working knowledge of relevant COSHH and HSE legislation. A valid licence to drive in the UK. Experience working in residents’ homes and communicating with residents. Working knowledge of statutory legislation in regards to health & safety and to understand the need for rigorous risk assessment and method statement procedure. Significant Carpentry experience and considerable skills and experience in other disciplines. Relevant qualifications. Working Hours: 36hrs / 8 :00am - 16:00pm / Monday to Friday Pay: £26.14 p/h Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
