As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will act as the ‘Cloud Ambassador’ across all the cloud products, arming our customers with required tools & tactics to get the most out of their Product and Support investment.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

WHY AWS SUPPORT?
1. First and foremost, this is a customer support role – in The Cloud.
2. On a typical day, a Support Engineer will be primarily responsible for solving customer’s cases through a variety of customer contact channels which include telephone, email, and web/live chat. You will apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions for our customers and drive customer interactions by thoughtfully working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.
3. Apart from working on a broad spectrum of technical issues, an AWS Support Engineer may also coach/mentor new hires, develop & present training, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools/scripts to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.

6. Support engineers interested in travel have presented training or participated in focused summits across our sites or at specific AWS events.
Basic Qualifications
1. 2+ years of experience with secure corporate access and communications between users/servers, securing architectures from various attacks and vulnerabilities, and understanding identity access management and cryptography concepts.
2. Knowledge or experience with system administration, and troubleshooting any operating system (Linux and/or Windows) and networking.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken) within technical and business settings.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics or related field.
2. One or more security-related certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISA, CISM, SECURITY+ Security Speciality, OSCP, or related).
3. Knowledge of security and compliance standards (such as Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks), Hardware Security Module (HSM), safeguarding sensitive data and implementing security best practices.
4. Understanding of cloud computing concepts and/or experience with any cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience scripting or developing in one or more of the following languages: UNIX Shell, Python, R, Ruby, GO, Java, .NET (C#), JavaScript.
