Shape the Future of Our Practice
The team at Croft Vets in Brackley is looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Practice Director to lead and manage our practice. This is a unique opportunity to ensure high standards of clinical and client care, while also driving the sustainable profitability of our well-established practice.
As the Practice Director, you will be at the helm of our operations, overseeing leadership, management, HR, finance, and business development. You'll collaborate closely with our clinical and support teams to ensure the highest standards of care, while also promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership: Act as an ambassador of our culture, values, and employer brand. Provide leadership, guidance, development, and regular appraisals to all employees. Lead by example, promoting civility, respect, and professional conduct throughout the practice. Foster a culture of wellbeing, mental health support, and effective communication to ensure employee engagement.
2. Management: Work alongside the Senior Vet and Head Nurse to manage the practice's financial performance, achieving EBITDA targets as per the Business Plan. Ensure compliance with all HR, health and safety, GDPR, and financial policies. Manage staff rotas, including out-of-hours provisions, and collaborate with the Area Support Manager and Area Director to ensure effective communication and coordination.
3. Human Resources: Partner with our Talent Team for timely recruitment, ensuring fairness and transparency in line with company policies. Manage employee relations in collaboration with Employee Relations, ensuring consistency and fairness. Oversee the onboarding process, performance reviews, and development discussions, ensuring that all clinical staff meet expected standards.
4. Finance Management: Oversee all aspects of finance management within the practice, including reconciliation, credit control, invoice processing, and insurance claim management. Monitor financial performance trends, manage stock levels, and ensure the integrity of the PMS system.
5. Marketing and Business Development: Collaborate with the Area and practice leadership team to plan and promote events such as Pet Health Plans, client educational evenings, and open days. Manage the practice's website and social media presence, promote pet insurance, and explore new ways to enhance our services to clients.
6. Clinical Standards: Ensure compliance with the IVC Pricing Policy, RCVS Practice Standards, and legal obligations regarding veterinary medicinal products. Work with the clinical teams to maintain high standards of patient care and facilitate appropriate referrals within the IVC network.

The practice is a single site small animal first opinion clinic with a dentistry referral service. It's location has excellent links to the M40 and is situated on the edge of the market town of Brackley Northamptonshire. We offer a wide range of veterinary services, from routine check-ups to complex surgeries, and we take pride in our friendly and compassionate approach to veterinary care. Currently, our team consists of 8 vets and 8 RVNs with a strong admin and front-of-house support team.

You should have a proven track record of delivering results, whilst demonstrating strong people & leadership skills. A work/life balance that suits you
Your shift pattern entails a 40-hour working week over 5 days, however, a 4-day week may be considered after a successful probation period if aligned with business needs.
