Role Purpose
To lead the facilities management (FM) infrastructure for Energy, with responsibility for the strategic development and management of facilities services for the main site and other allocated sites. To foster a safety-based and continuous improvement culture aligned with company values. To ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and Energy Management systems, in line with business objectives and certification standards (e.g., ISO 14001, 45001, 50001).
Responsibilities:
* Create, maintain, and implement a facilities strategy aligned with business growth plans, including development of existing sites and feasibility studies for new sites or relocations.
* Prepare annual facilities plans and budgets, delivering them to maximize value for money without compromising quality or scope of service.
* Manage projects and provide professional FM support for site-related projects and capital expenditures, including development, planning, costing, and delivery, working closely with supporting functions and managing subcontractors.
* Oversee existing facilities services, including planned preventative maintenance schedules covering statutory and non-statutory tasks across all sites.
* Manage and deliver facilities contingencies in line with incident and business continuity plans, including providing out-of-hours support as required.
* Liaise and negotiate with landlords, agents, local authorities, contractors, utilities, and other service providers.
* Act as the lead point of contact for stakeholder and group requirements related to facilities/property.
* Analyze and report on facilities management KPIs and performance metrics.
* Maintain data collection systems to generate monthly reports, including statistical analyses.
* Appoint and manage key service providers, monitoring their performance against SLAs and KPIs.
* Ensure all facilities meet security and safety requirements and remain compliant.
* Manage facilities team members, including performance management, succession planning, and individual development.
* Oversee fleet management, including hire car oversight.
* Perform any other duties as required.
Experience needed:
* Proven FM experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Professional knowledge of facilities, health, safety, and environmental legislation, statutory compliance, and HSE best practices.
* Leadership skills for managing direct reports, contract teams, and dotted-line teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
* Proficiency in software such as MS Office, ticketing systems, and HSE software.
* Experience in financial management, including budgeting and costing.
* Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to prioritize safety excellence.
* Relevant qualifications: FM Foundation Course, NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management, IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management.
* Experience in the Defence/Aerospace or safety-regulated environments is advantageous.
* Experience working within highly regulated industries with controlled materials.
* Professional FM (Intermediate I and II), NEBOSH Diploma, membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH), and IEMA membership.
