Job Overview Following change within the organisation we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual for the pivotal role of Director of Contracts and Data. As our Director of Contracts and Data, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the successful delivery of the Trust’s strategic and operational financial objectives through the effective leadership of the Planning, Contracts, Commercial, and Information Teams. The post holder will jointly report to the Deputy CEO (for Information and the New Hospital Programme) and the Deputy Chief Financial Officer (for Planning, Contracts and Commercial) and works with corporate responsibility for Contracts and Information in the Trust. Main duties of the job We Are Looking For Someone Who Is able to operate as a visible member of the Trust’s senior leadership team, establishes a collaborative working network with Executive Directors within the Trust and the ICS and contributes to the delivery of corporate strategy and organisation objectives. Provides efficient and effective operational management of the Planning, Contracts, Commercial and Information Departments, aligning resources with priorities on a regular basis to ensure that the key priorities are delivered on time, with the maximum focus of staff resource into value-adding activities. Is able to demonstrate change leadership within finance and Information and across the Trust, specifically the identification and implementation of best practice, and delivering value for money services within the primary area of responsibility and leading by example. Is confident in the provision of high quality and timely Commercial support /advice to the CFO, Trust Executives, Trust Board and Directorates. Is politically astute with a sophisticated understanding of board dynamics and can use this to develop strong and effective relationships to support the successful external positioning of the organisation and ongoing delivery of positive partnerships. Is confident advising the Board on complex matters – balancing risks and taking the operating context into consideration. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Masters Degree in Law/Strategy Post graduate professional qualification in Law - Legal Practice Course with substantial relevant experience in NHS Contracting or Commercial law Degree level education in Business or equivalent Project Management Qualification Desirable criteria Post Graduate management qualification in Strategy/Law/Commercial Finance Qualification Qualification in Statistics or advanced modelling techniques (such as system Dynamics) / significant equivalent experience.
