As a Lead Practitioner, you will take on the vital responsibility of being the designated leader for all complex safeguarding cases, where multi-agency partners with statutory obligations come together to offer comprehensive support for families in need.
Our work in the Refugees, Resettlement & Migration Service brings a unique experience each day, filled with unexpected challenges and rewards! There are several key responsibilities that are likely to be integral to this role, including:
1. Guiding the day-to-day oversight of complex cases with the Integration and Support Officer tasks.
2. Managing a caseload where you will uphold a comprehensive understanding and application of relevant legislation while offering families support in areas such as safeguarding, mental and physical health issues.
3. Ensuring service continuity and maintaining service levels within legal and safeguarding parameters, including proactive planning for and responding to variations in service demand.
4. Working collaboratively across WSCC and partner teams and services, coordinating with colleagues to identify areas for improvement in the service, with a particular focus on establishing clear and precise working practices related to safeguarding cases.
5. Accountability for the professional development of members within the Integration and Support Supervisors and the wider team, which includes contributions to performance management, mentoring and coaching colleagues, as well as the establishment and monitoring of targets and objectives to ensure a fully effective team.

Required experience and skills
6. Full valid UK driving licence
7. Experience of mentoring, motivating and raising the skill and capabilities of colleagues to achieve assigned work, supporting the growth and development of a team within a safeguarding remit.
8. Proven leadership skills and a desire to use these in influencing colleagues, partners and decision-makers, as part of our mission to secure continuous improvement.
9. Skills to prioritise and organize your own work as well as that of others to meet established performance expectations.
10. Experience in conducting assessments in complex situations, as well as in planning, implementing, and reviewing interventions through creative and pragmatic solutions.
11. Strong communication skills, with the capacity to confidently influence, advise and explain information effectively to a diverse range of people as well as negotiate and persuade others to adopt a specific course of action.
12. High IT competency including a good working knowledge in the use of major computerised systems for operating a similar service.
