You will work closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide tailored support that meets each child's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide Direct Support: Offer emotional and practical support to children, helping them to build confidence, resilience, and independence.
2. Care Planning: Assist in developing and implementing personalized care plans, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met.
3. Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of children to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
4. Collaboration: Work in partnership with families, schools, social workers, and other professionals to deliver coordinated care.
5. Activities and Engagement: Organize and participate in activities that promote socialization, learning, and fun in a safe environment.
6. Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during crises, helping to stabilize situations and develop coping strategies.
7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions, care plans, and progress reports.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people in a support, care, or educational setting is preferred.
2. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in childcare, social care, or a related field are desirable but not essential; we value experience and a passion for helping others.
3. Empathy and Compassion: A genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and an understanding of the challenges they may face.
4. Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required by the needs of the children.
5. Driver's License: A valid driver's license is essential, as the role may involve travel within Carmarthenshire.
