Advert ORKNEY HEALTH AND CARE Health and Community Care – Smiddybrae House Social Care Worker 37 hours per week, Shift working over seven days Permanent £31,942 – £32,642 / £33,448 – £35,910 £16.56 – £16.92 / £17.34 – £18.61 per hour The above amounts include shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by senior staff in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users. You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to their general care and wellbeing, including assisting with personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Care Inspectorate. Previous experience in care within a Care Home or Extra Care Housing is essential. To be appointed at Grade E: You should hold an SVQ2, or equivalent level qualification, in Social Care and will be required to achieve an SVQ3 in Social Care, or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults, within 5 years of appointment. To be appointed at Grade F: You should hold an SVQ3 in Social Care, or another relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults. The successful applicant is required to register with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults, within 3 months of appointment. This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults. You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
