Are you passionate about expanding your knowledge and gaining experience across a variety of specialist Cardiology settings?
We are offering an exciting opportunity for Band 5 registered nurses (whether you are newly qualified or experienced) to join our Cardiology/Catheter Lab rotation programme.
This 18-month rotational post allows you to develop your skills in two of our leading Cardiology areas; our Cardiology ward, which includes a Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and our state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheter Labs.
You will spend 9 months in each department, gaining hands-on experience and building confidence in complex Cardiology care.
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be guaranteed a substantive role within one of the departments -- a fantastic opportunity to grow your career at one of the UK's leading cardiac centres. As part of the substantive role, you will be expected to work hybrid across both areas when required, supporting the service by utilising the valuable skills and knowledge gained during your rotation.

On the ward, you will be caring for patients who are direct transfers from the regional general hospitals and emergency pathways running through our department and as such is dependent on the clinical skills of trained and motivated nurses. We have a superb and supportive team of dedicated nurses and support staff. Our staff are focused on providing the highest standards of patient care.
Within the Cath Labs you will be trained to safely care for patients undergoing a range of procedures in the Cath Labs and Bronchoscopy in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. The Cath Lab and Bronchoscopy department comprises of five Cardiac Catheterisation Labs, a 6th Hybrid suite, two Bronchoscopy suites and a 10 bedded Holding Bay/Recovery area. We also provide essential care to our acute patients via our 24/7 PPCI service.

Person specification
Qualifications
Current registration with NMC, part two of the register.
Diploma, BSc or MSc in Nursing.
Experience
Able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, patients and their relatives.
Good theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing within the clinical area.
Able to problem solve and use own initiative.
Able to plan, organise and prioritise workload.
