DT Technician
Location: Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea
Salary: £18- £22p/h
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full time until July 2025

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled DT Technician to join our vibrant team at a leading comprehensive girls’ school in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation in our Design and Technology department. As a DT Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both staff and students in achieving their goals.
DT Technician Key Responsibilities:
* Utilize your textiles skills to prepare sewing machines and maintain them, providing invaluable support for hand stitching activities in class.
* Prepare materials for various projects, including fabric cutting and organizing materials for the laser cutter.
* Maintain digital records and assist in printing photos of student work, ensuring a comprehensive documentation of progress.
* Supervise the laser cutter, ensuring its safe and effective use by students and staff.
* Assist in setting up displays and exhibitions of student work, showcasing the creativity and talent within our school community.
* Provide support in classrooms and printing resources when department staff are absent, ensuring continuity of learning.
* Offer support in lessons, working with small groups of students as required to enhance their understanding and skills.
DT Technician Job Requirements:
* Demonstrable expertise in textiles, including sewing machine preparation and maintenance.
* Ability to prepare materials and assist in various tasks related to design and technology projects.
* Proficiency in digital maintenance, including organizing and printing photos of student work.
* Experience with laser cutter supervision preferred.
* Flexibility and adaptability to support the department in various capacities as needed.
* Resistant materials experience is desired but not essential for this term.
