What will you be doing?
Position: Operational Risk Manager
Location: Hybrid – Dorking or Basingstoke (2 days a week)
What will you bring?
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operational Risk Manager to lead the continual development and implementation of operational risk management within Unum. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert advice and communicate risk policies and processes across the organisation, ensuring a robust approach to managing operational and non-financial risks.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing risk processes and ensuring controls are operating effectively.
2. Delivering research and analytical support to strengthen the business’s risk management framework.
3. Mentoring and supporting other members of the Risk team.
4. Communicating and embedding risk policies across the business.
5. Building strong partnerships to enhance risk awareness and delivering training to empower staff.
As a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to management, you will thrive in a collaborative environment. Financial services industry experience is essential, and the ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build relationships.
