We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as Care Navigator/ Receptionist in a permanent role at a fantastic medical centre in Liverpool. As a Care Navigator, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of our centre. This is a versatile position that involves working both on reception and over the phone, as well as assisting with various tasks in the back of the medical centre.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Greeting and assisting patients at the reception desk.
* Managing incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate departments.
* Scheduling appointments and maintaining the appointment system.
* Assisting with administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing.
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
* Providing general information to patients and addressing their inquiries.
* Maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
About us
Drs Bird & Kassha practice currently has approximately 6000 patients across two sites, one in Crosby and the other in Bootle. We are a busy, friendly, training practice who are high QOF achievers. We are a paper light Practice using the EMIS Web clinical system.
The team currently consists of 2 GP Partners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 ANP, 1 HCA, 8 Receptionists, 3 Administrators and 1 medical secretary.
Job responsibilities
As the initial point of contact for the Practice, the job holder will provide a professional and confidential service to all Practice patients, dealing with general enquiries and appointment requests received either by telephone or in person. They will deal with registration requests and patient prescription requests in a timely manner and will ensure the retrieval and filing of all patient records.
Person Specification
Experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail.
* Proficient computer skills and familiarity with basic office software.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Empathy and compassion towards patients.
* Experience working in Primary care, preferably within a GP practice environment preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
* Previous experience working as a receptionist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
* Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Education to GCSE level, maths and English proficiency essential.
