Purpose of a Facilities Co-Ordinator
The Facilities Co-Ordinator will report to the HSEF Manager and will be responsible for overseeing building and equipment maintenance within a production/manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Adhere to relevant standards, legislation, policies, and protocols, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards.
2. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
3. Perform general site maintenance and liaise with contractors to ensure high standards of work and on-time delivery.
4. Co-Ordinating daily maintenance tasks such as general repairs and inspections to ensure machinery is in good working order.
5. Have a good understanding of Health & Safety/risk assessments, method statements & permits to work.
6. Updating maintenance logs for all machinery.
7. Provide maintenance support required for production and emergency callouts.
8. Key Holder responsibility including first responder on key holder list.
9. Have some understanding of building infrastructure systems e.g. HVAC, plumbing, security/fire alarm systems.
10. Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPMs) in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
11. Review and act on service reports from contractors, addressing defects and repairs as necessary.
12. Accountable for delivery and adherence to the Maintenance Plan and associated priorities including performance requirements in your area remit, escalating any issues as necessary.
13. Implementation of the visual factory / 5s Implementation.
14. Environmental response and controls.
15. Manage the Facilities Helpdesk tickets relating to maintenance and repair tasks.
16. Conduct company vehicle checks and action accordingly.
17. Foster strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The successful job holder will be expected to perform varying tasks as required by their line manager & the overall objectives of the organisation.
Knowledge, Education, and Skills
1. Proven experience within a Facilities Maintenance role previously (Essential).
2. Proactive with strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a diplomatic working style.
3. Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
4. Computer literacy is essential, especially an excellent understanding of MS Word and Excel.
5. Ability to work at heights.
6. Forklift license (desirable).
7. IPAF Certificate (desirable).
8. Mechanical and/or Electrical qualification or significant M&E experience (desirable).
9. Driving license (Essential).
10. Keyholder duties (Essential).
Other Material Requirements
1. Please note that additional hours may be required to ensure production goals are achieved.
2. Portable Appliance Testing Certificate desirable but not essential.
3. Must have a self-starter / can-do attitude.
