RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead and manage real estate finance transactions, advising clients on acquisition and investment finance, refinancing, development and construction finance, and mezzanine finance.
2. Oversee due diligence processes and the preparation of certificates/reports on title, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of documents.
3. Provide advice on intercreditor arrangements, ESG and sustainable finance, offering creative and practical solutions for complex transactions.
4. Advise a wide range of commercial lenders and borrowers in diverse property sectors.
5. Take a commercial, proactive approach to transactions, identifying potential issues early and providing solutions to mitigate risks.
6. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including valuers, legal advisors, and financial experts, to ensure smooth and timely drawdown of funds.
7. Mentor and supervise junior solicitors and associates, aiding in their professional development.
8. Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering consistent, high-quality legal advice that aligns with clients' business strategies and objectives.
9. Stay up to date with market trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes, ensuring clients receive current and accurate advice.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with at least 8 years post-qualified experience and proven experience leading and managing complex real estate finance transactions.
2. Experience leading and mentoring teams.
3. Strong client management skills, working with lenders, borrowers, and developers.
4. Experience in business development and growing a banking and finance practice, including bringing in new clients and building long-term relationships.
