Our client, a leading company in the aerospace industry, is currently seeking a Buyer to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing supplier communication and ensuring timely deliveries. Summary:
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months rolling contract with potential to become permanent!
Location: Wolverhampton
Pay Rate: £18 - £20.00 per hour depending on experience
Hours: Mon - Thurs 8 - 16.45 Fri 8 -12 - Hybrid working available after initial training periodResponsibilities:
Manage the order book for a variety of suppliers
Raise and amend purchase/scheduled orders
Resolve invoice queries and issue RFQs
Provide critical updates on delivery status to key internal stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues
Keep escalation files updated with current information
Review internal metrics to analyse and improve performance
Work with Account Manager to develop solutions that drive the business forward
Mitigate supply chain risks to prevent critical line stops
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) teams in meeting project timescales
Collaborate with account managers and commodity managers on supplier strategy
Negotiate with and manage cost for suppliers
Facilitate stakeholder reviews and action outcomes
Understand the production path and assist in improvementsSkills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of SAP

Data analysis skills
