Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist
Full time, Permanent Post in Medical Assessment Unit.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Medical team at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh. Our team provides input to trolleys and the medical assessment unit (MAU) to facilitate early discharge from hospital. We are therefore looking for a driven, enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Applicants should have:
* Excellent communication, time management and prioritisation skills.
* A high standard of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention skills.
* Clinical experience working as an Occupational Therapist within an acute or rehabilitation setting.
* Experience of providing clinical or non-clinical supervision.
In return we offer formal supervision, development opportunities including Quality Improvement and peer support from an experienced and friendly team. There are strong network links to the hospital via bus services.
Candidates who are currently in a Band 5 post and wish to develop their career are encouraged to apply along with those already in a Band 6 post. There will be a commitment to weekend working in the Occupational Therapy team at WGH as part of the 5 over 7 day working pattern.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
