Salary/Banding: Band 2
Hours: 20 Hours Per Week, 4 hours daily (Flexibility essential during our opening hours of 8am-6pm and a requirement to work one extended hours shift until 6:45pm on a rotational basis.)
St Brycedale Surgery is a four partner GP Practice based in the heart of the community, located centrally within the beautiful Kingdom of Fife, with easy access to the cities of Edinburgh, Perth and St Andrews. We are an east coastal town with the beach being just a 10-minute walk away.
Our ethos is to provide the best possible primary care services to our patients in an efficient, friendly and sympathetic manner. We are looking for someone to join our reception team who enjoys working with the public and is both professional and approachable at all times. It is essential that they have a positive approach to their work when dealing with our patients and interacting within the team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is confident when working in a very challenging and busy environment.
Required Skills
The successful candidate is required to be organised, pro-active and have a sense of responsibility. They must be able to communicate confidently and effectively within the workplace and be able to work well within a team as well as being capable of working independently. The ability to work accurately under pressure and pay attention to detail is essential. They will need to be a good problem solver who can use their own initiative and think for themselves. Understanding the importance of confidentiality is essential.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly during times of staff absence, holidays and assist with overtime in order to meet the needs of the practice.
Duties
Duties will include all reception/admin work to assist the smooth running of the practice, signposting patients, assisting patients with appointments, prescription requests, general enquiries, etc. Assisting and communicating effectively with our multidisciplinary team.
Competency in using GP clinical systems would be advantageous. Previous experience working with the public is essential. A medical background would be preferred but is not essential.
