OVERVIEW
AtkinsClarke are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute UK Financial Controller to join the UK arm of a global manufacturing business based near Telford - reporting directly to the UK Managing Director.

ROLE
As the UK Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, and IT for the UK business. This is a pivotal role in the senior management team, responsible for leading finance, accounting, and IT activities, this position provides a unique opportunity to drive strategic growth and support business performance in a highly autonomous role. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Leadership:
* Lead the UK finance team
* Deliver management accounting, financial reporting, and analysis to drive business performance.
* Manage forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning processes.
* Oversee working capital, cash management, and customer credit management.
* Handle standard costing, efficiency analysis, and investment appraisals.
Commercial & Strategic Support:
* Partner closely with the UK Managing Director, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
* Evaluate commercial pricing, tender appraisals, and procurement contracts.
* Ensure compliance with audit, taxation, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Finance & Compliance:
* Manage payroll, pensions, employee benefits, and treasury functions.
* Ensure robust ForEx, banking, and financing activities.
* Lead IT oversight for the UK site and manage compliance with company secretarial duties.
* Manage insurance arrangements and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Occasional UK and international travel may be required.
PERSON
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and highly driven finance professional, ideally ACMA/ACA/ACCA qualified, with working knowledge in a manufacturing environment. You should possess the following skills and experience:
* Proven leadership experience in a senior finance role within manufacturing.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and SAP ERP.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships.
* Ability to operate autonomously and contribute to the strategic direction of the UK business.
