Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the Service Delivery Engineer is to provide specialist system/application expertise to the NATS' IT is supporting the Air Traffic Management service to ensure that resilience is maintained throughout the service lifecycle and continual improvement is applied.
Duties include:
1. Application of domain expert knowledge to assigned/escalated Incidents, prioritising, diagnosing, and resolving them using agreed procedures resulting in restoration of service resilience.
2. Gaining, holding, and maintaining the competencies necessary to control and configure applications to enable the restoration of technical services.
3. Analysis of Service Events and Incidents to initiate and undertake Problem Management activities to continuously improve service provision.
4. Ensuring service configuration processes and tools are applied so that service configuration records remain accurate, complete, and current.
5. Effective application of risk management processes to ensure that service levels are met.
6. Implementation of assigned Service Requests & Changes to meet customer requirements and improve the service.
7. Management of service assets, e.g. software, so those service assets are in a known state and in the correct location.
Qualifications/Behaviours:
1. The applicant is expected to hold, as a minimum, a HNC (or an equivalent qualification) in an Engineering or Information Technology discipline and have directly relevant experience with a demonstrated ability to carry out engineering and managerial work to this level.
2. Ability to work calmly, systematically, and analytically.
3. Proven ability to analyse complex technical data in a complex operating environment to resolve major service incidents.
4. Proven ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and vice versa.
5. Hold relevant Industry certifications.
6. Experience of working in automated and virtualised environments where a software-defined architecture is prevalent.
7. Proven history of application of continuous service improvement processes.
8. Experience of working with Linux Operating systems.
9. Networking knowledge and configuration.

Note - In this position, you will become part of an on-call rota (once competent) so you must live within 1 hour's commute of Swanwick.
