Associate Director (Deliberative Research)
At Spalding Goobery Associates, we put public and stakeholder opinion at the heart of our clients' thinking. Our insight-led strategic advisory firm offers a diverse range of research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative techniques, serving clients across the private, public, and third sectors.
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Engagement/Deliberation/Dialogue practice. In addition to high-quality research skills and project management expertise, we require a strong focus on initiative, proactivity, and enthusiasm. The successful candidate will also possess specific technical abilities:
* Public engagement, public dialogue, deliberative research, community engagement, patient or public participation, and citizens juries or assemblies. These projects involve involving people in decision-making, policy, or plans, rather than simply providing research data.
* Public sector experience, preferably with agencies or in-house roles. For those from government, third sector, or academia, a clear explanation of how they would adapt to an agency context is essential.
* Experience in winning new business and bid writing.
* Grounding in qualitative methods and quantitative experience will be highly advantageous.
* Fieldwork experience, particularly running face-to-face workshops and events, with an understanding of participant experience and supporting inclusion. This role involves evening and weekend work, with a TOIL and flexible working policy in place to support this.
* Strong project management skills, including juggling multiple activities, freelancers, and venues, with big budgets and teams.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and large-scale public engagement projects, contributing to our clients' success and growth.
