This US headquartered global entertainment company is seeking to appoint a Director of Accounting to join the finance team in Manchester. The business has a growing omni-channel presence and this is a key role reporting into the VP of finance for its digital business.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.You will be a technically strong qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
Key responsibilities:

Gross Profit Management:
* Oversee the calculation, reconciliation, and reporting of gross profit, including attribution of spend to appropriate geographies, segments and verticals.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Close:
* Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring compliance with close deadlines and internal controls.
Internal Controls:
* Establish and maintain robust SOX-compliant internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Conduct regular reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
Team Leadership:
* Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
* Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success and professional development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with other functions within and outside of Finance to understand business drivers and ensure financial statement accuracy.
Ad-Hoc:
* Perform ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting and other functions as required.
* Provide actionable insights to senior management to support strong financial statement close and ensure successful audit completion and operating efficiency within the team.
YOU:
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and full cycle accounting and internal controls
* Experience with SOX
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Oracle experience
The business operates a hybrid working policy with the requirement to be in office 2 days per week. Experience working in the entertainment/gaming sector advantageus but not essential. You will have worked in a fast-paced, progressive environment where you have been involved in process improvement and creating efficiencies.
