ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Vacancy
In partnership with Gateshead Council - Learning and Skills, Central Support Service is looking to recruit highly skilled and experienced individuals to undertake a Level 3 Teaching Assistants Apprenticeship.
The position will entail a work placement within Central Support Service at Newcastle College.
The role will involve working with learners who have additional learning needs, which may include learning/physical difficulties, personal care and access support, mental health & wellbeing difficulties, autism, and blind or partially sighted support. The role entails providing one-to-one academic support or group support to learners on cross-college courses.
Experience or qualifications in supporting learners in a learning environment is advantageous. Candidates must be able to work as part of a team, possess good communication skills, and have an understanding of the issues and barriers learners with a learning difficulty and/or disability may encounter.
GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths is essential for this post, and evidence of qualifications will be required prior to the interview.
