Job Title: Infotainment and HMI Test Engineer (941)
Location: Cranfield
Pay: £27.00 per hour
We are seeking an Infotainment and HMI Test Engineer to join a globally recognised automotive company in Cranfield. This long-term contract role offers the potential for several years of work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with:
1. Validating vehicle functions, performance, reliability, and regulations for infotainment, displays, and parking systems to meet client and regulatory standards.
2. Creating and managing test methods and procedures.
3. Developing test plans, including change/variance impact analysis and resource management.
4. Analysing results, making judgments, and reporting to cross-functional teams and upper management.
5. Investigating concerns, performing root cause analysis, and recommending countermeasures to design, aftermarket, and manufacturing departments.
6. Occasionally supporting field investigations.
7. Reporting and liaising with suppliers.
8. Preparing test/investigation reports, test plans, and methods.
9. Ensuring the quality of electrical systems meets client standards.
10. Completing validation within project milestones.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
2. Working knowledge of Renault and Mitsubishi electrical architecture.
3. Strong understanding of electrical theory and electronic device operation.
4. Fluent in written and verbal English.
5. Experience with software applications in vehicle ECUs, including flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.
6. Ability to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.
7. Familiar with network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
8. Proficient in CANalyzer, CANape software, or similar tools, with the ability to interpret results.
9. Capability to read system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
10. Practical experience in problem-solving tools and techniques.
11. Familiar with digital oscilloscopes and basic electrical test equipment.
12. Relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, having completed at least two vehicle developments or equivalent experience.
13. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
14. Willingness to travel abroad, typically for a few days to 2 weeks, with occasional long-distance travel for up to 10 weeks at short notice.
15. Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Project.
16. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to prioritize and multitask across multiple projects.
Hours & Pay:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
Pay: £27.00 per hour.
